The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) offers two pathways at the Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA) for individuals aspiring to become Professional Accountants through ANAN:
1. The Professional Course – Designed for graduates from accounting-related fields.
2. The Conversion Course – Tailored for individuals transitioning from other disciplines into accounting.
Both courses are structured to equip candidates with the necessary skills, knowledge, and ethical standards required of required of professional accountants today.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will undergo a compulsory 36 months Accountants-in-Training (AiT) programme in any sector of the economy, whether under the supervision of a practicing ANAN member or another approved professional in government, industry, commerce, or academia. Once the AiT is completed participants will be officially inducted into the membership of ANAN.
Eligibility for ANAN Membership
Membership of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:
1. Possession of a university degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy.
2. Completion of a one-year intensive full-time or 18 months Part-time professional education, training, and examination at the Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos.
3. Completion of a 36 months Accountants-in-Training (AiT) programme in any sector of the economy, whether under the supervision of a practicing ANAN member or another approved professional in government, industry, commerce, or academia.
4. Annual participation in the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Programme, which ensures that members continuously enhance their professional and technical expertise, staying up to date with industry best practices and maintaining relevance to clients and employers.
