The Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University, Prof. Chigozie Ogbu has called for collaborative strategies in developing students’ capacity.
He made this known during a courtesy visit by the President of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Dr. James Ekerare Neminebor to the University on Monday 14th October, 2024.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Eugene Nweke, he highlighted modalities for a mutually beneficial relationship between both institutions in engendering research, innovation and design of new models in accounting.
He further called for encouragement of student internship, mentorship and entrepreneurship in building knowledgeable and skillful accountants.
ANAN President, Dr. Neminebor in his remarks advised accounting students in the University to enrol at the Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA) in Kwall, Plateau State upon graduation for practical studies in becoming professional accountants.
In broadening students’ experience in digital accounting, enhanced analytical and problem-solving skills for entrepreneurial competence, he noted that the Association will work towards siting an accounting laboratory in the University.
